The Film Office is an advocate for all kinds of productions, from major feature films and television series to commercials, music videos, documentaries and student films. We provide permits and many services to assist your project, and we look forward to working with you.

A listing of the permitting bodies around the City and their contact information. The Film Office remains a good point of first contact for all locations however we are unable to permit areas outside of the City's jurisdiction.

Student Filming

The San Francisco Film Commission works with local film schools to assist students looking to permit film projects in the City. A student project is defined as a class assignment that is provided insurance coverage by your university.
