The Film Office is an advocate for all kinds of productions, from major feature films and television series to commercials, music videos, documentaries and student films. We provide permits and many services to assist your project, and we look forward to working with you.
Our Film Office is a sector of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development.
The Film Office staff issues film permits to your production, providing access to public locations and street parking for essential production vehicles throughout the City. We are a small staff of four, but we work one-on-one with every single production that wants to shoot in SF.
The San Francisco Film Commission works to develop, recognize and promote film activities in San Francisco. We work to promote the San Francisco Bay Area as a film destination while also working with the local film community to support local projects with significant ties to San Francisco.
Film Commission Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of every month (except for August) at 2pm in City Hall, Room 416.
